When
The time has come to act as if we are one, as if we understand that our future is at stake, and that we will not get a second chance if we fail.
The rot in our world is the hope that someone else will find a way to solve our great problems, or that we cannot solve them, or that they will not be solved any time during our lives.....and so acting to change this sorry state is not worthwhile, too overwhelming, or too expensive in time and effort.
When people come to see that this is not so, that new wonders in our time and our world can be attained my mere mortals, by the belief in the best of humanity and not the self-serving and pitying inclination to expect the worst and believe in its inevitability...then we will attain the momentum and critical mass necessary to break through to the other side, and see the certainty of our triumph over our failings as people and in doing this, we will create a true Commonwealth, a place where people treat strangers as friends and share what they have gained in this life, and all its experiences, to make us all richer, and more complete as human beings.
That time is near.... not centuries or many decades from now, but within our lifetime, within the span of one generation hence.
